Job Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Radiologic Technologist to provide direct and indirect care to patients in our Duke Children's Creekstone clinic. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating x-ray equipment, positioning patients, and processing images. They will also assist with clinic visits, including rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, and reviewing medications in electronic medical records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate x-ray equipment to produce high-quality radiographs
  • Position patients using positioning assistance devices and protective equipment as necessary
  • Adjust equipment for proper radiographic exposure techniques in accordance with radiation safety guidelines
  • Process images with correct patient identification information
  • Calibrate radiographic equipment and perform routine equipment maintenance
  • Assist with clinic visits, including rooming patients and obtaining vital signs
  • Review after-visit summaries with patients/families as needed
  • Assist with developing and updating patient education materials
  • Participate in maintaining the environment of care, including equipment and material resources
Requirements
  • Graduate of a program that meets eligibility requirements for registry/certification or currently holds required registry or certification
  • Level I must obtain certification within 18 months of employment
  • Level II minimum of two years' experience as a diagnostic radiology technologist
  • ARRT certification in radiography or ARRT certification within 18 months of hire
  • BLS certification
Work Environment
