Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Grader/Sorter to join our team at Goodwill Memphis. As a Grader/Sorter, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and accuracy of our soft line goods inventory.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Stay Current on Brand Names and Styles: Stay abreast of brand names, designer labels, current and vintage styles, and price points for soft line goods.
  2. Sort and Process Apparel: Sort apparel into boutique, salable, and salvage categories, and ensure that all salable apparel is properly tagged, sized, and hung on racks.
  3. Provide Quality Assurance: Conduct quality checks to ensure that apparel meets our standards, including checking for tears, stains, wet, smelly, soiled, broken zippers, and missing buttons.
  4. Recognize and Grade Apparel: Recognize and grade the quality of apparel, including identifying brand names and pricing.
  5. Meet Production Goals: Achieve and exceed the MGI production goals of (4) Dandux/Tallboys each day.
  6. Maintain a Clean and Organized Workspace: Maintain the sorting and processing area in a neat and clean condition at all times.
  7. Adhere to Policies and Procedures: Adhere to all policies and procedures, including good safety and security practices, and report any safety hazards or injuries to the Team Leader Coach or ATL.
  8. Review Consumer Product Safety Commission Recall Bulletins: Review and utilize current Consumer Product Safety Commission recall bulletins to prevent unsafe items from being sold in the store.
  9. Handle Equipment Safely: Handle equipment safely, including pushing, not pulling, and never overfilling equipment.
  10. Assist with Floor Running and Cleaning: Assist with floor running, apparel rotation, cleaning dressing rooms, and other duties as assigned by the Team Leader Coach.
  11. Attend In-Service Training: Attend in-service related training as assigned by the Team Leader Coach.
