Job Overview

This leadership role utilizes the Nursing Process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses, and Scope & Standards of Practice. The successful candidate will effectively delegate, direct, and assist licensed and ancillary team members. They will be accountable for quality patient outcomes, sensitive to cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity, and actively involved in achieving unit and departmental strategic goals.

Requirements
  • Registered Nurse Diploma or Associate's/Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Current RN License in the state of practice required.
  • Certification in clinical specialty area (preferred).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required.
Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize the Nursing Process to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Assess learning needs and implement teaching strategies for diverse patient populations.
  • Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team, delegating tasks and managing resources.
  • Evaluate data to promote optimal patient outcomes and advocate for change when necessary.
  • Emphasize customer satisfaction, employee morale, and nursing professionalism.
Benefits and Compensation

The estimated salary for this position is $85,000-$120,000 per year, commensurate with experience. A sign-on bonus and relocation assistance are available. Ochsner Health offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as retirement plans and paid time off.

Work Environment

This role involves frequent exertion of 10-20 pounds and occasional exertion of up to 100 pounds. You will work in a patient care area with potential exposure to blood, body fluids, and hazardous medications or waste.
