Responsibilities:

* Provide excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the Y and on the phone, contributing to member retention.
* Conduct interviews and/or tours responsive to the needs of prospective members; sell memberships.
* Build relationships with members; help members connect with one another and the YMCA.
* Handle and resolve membership concerns and inform supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.
* Apply all YMCA policies dealing with member services.
* Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
* May hand out locker keys and towels; may monitor the locker rooms as required.

Requirements:

* Certifications required within 30 days of hire: CPR/AED, and First Aid.
* Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
* Previous customer service, sales, or related experience preferred.
* Basic knowledge of computers.
* Must be at least 16 years old.
* Completes Praesidium within 7 days of hire date.
* Previous experience with diverse populations preferred.
* Understands the YMCA is a public accommodation committed to inclusion and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

* Ability to walk, stand, and sit for long periods of time.
* Ability to stand or sit while maintaining alertness for several hours at a time.
* Position may require bending, leaning, kneeling, and walking.
* Ability to speak concisely and effectively communicate.
* Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency
* Ability to view/enter data for long periods of time.
