LVN Labor and Delivery Nurse

Job Summary:
Hollywood Presbyterian is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate LVN Labor and Delivery Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our labor and delivery unit, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to expectant mothers and their families.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians.
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of labor and delivery rooms, ensuring they are clean, well-stocked, and equipped with necessary supplies.
- Monitor maternal vital signs, fetal heart rate, and uterine contractions, reporting any abnormalities or changes to the healthcare team.
- Assist with the admission, assessment, and triage of patients, ensuring accurate documentation of patient history, symptoms, and progress.
- Administer medications and assist with pain management techniques as directed by the healthcare team.
- Assist with the implementation of individualized care plans, including monitoring and documenting progress, and reporting any concerns to the registered nurse.
- Provide emotional support and comfort to laboring mothers and their families, promoting a positive and reassuring environment.
- Assist with newborn care, including initial assessments, measurements, and basic procedures such as weighing, bathing, and dressing.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure effective communication and coordination of care.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety guidelines, maintaining a high standard of professional conduct.
Requirements:
- Valid Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in State of California.
- BLS Card.
- ACLS card.
- Fire Card.
- Current IV certification from an approved state course.
- Wound Care certificate (within 60 days of employment).
- Current Los Angeles County Fire Card required (within 30 days of employment).
Working Conditions:
This is a full-time position, working 36 hours per week. The shift hours are 6:45am - 7:15pm, with 12 hours per shift.
