The Maintenance Workshop Assistant plays a crucial role in aiding maintenance professionals and engineers in executing both routine and urgent maintenance activities. This position is designed for individuals who aspire to build a career in industrial maintenance or production environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily cleaning and organization throughout the facility.
- Support shop organization initiatives.
- Assist in enhancing shop infrastructure.
- Keep tools, parts, and supplies organized and accessible for maintenance tasks.
- Collaborate with maintenance technicians to troubleshoot and repair machinery and equipment.
- Participate in routine preventive maintenance activities, including cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting various manufacturing machines.
- Help maintain the facility's infrastructure, covering areas such as lighting, plumbing, HVAC, painting, and other necessary repairs.
- Operate various tools and equipment, including power tools, forklifts, pressure washers, and other vehicles.
- Assist in preparing and completing maintenance documentation and reports.
Additional Responsibilities
- Demonstrate effective communication skills with supervisors and other departments.
- Exhibit basic mathematical skills, including understanding fractions and angles.
- Read and interpret tape measures and angle finders.
- Lift up to 50 pounds safely.
- Work in various physical positions, including kneeling and lying down.
- Climb ladders and work at heights as required.
- Utilize various shop tools, including both power and manual wrenches.
- Preferred training in forklift and overhead crane operation.
- Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.
- Collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Follow directions from supervisors or managers respectfully.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, gloves, and ear protection when necessary.
