Role Overview

The Registered Nurse (RN) operates within the framework of the nursing process, adhering to the standards set forth by the American Nurses Association (ANA). This role involves delivering professional nursing care that emphasizes patient and family-centered approaches. The RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and facilitating patient discharge, all while ensuring compliance with Corewell Health's policies and procedures. The RN recognizes the significance of nursing interventions and the collaborative relationship with patients and families in achieving optimal health outcomes.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Nursing is mandatory.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required within a five-year timeframe.
  • Candidates from non-accredited nursing programs must possess a minimum of one year of acute care experience or two years in a licensed healthcare role, along with successful completion of the NCLEX examination.
  • Current Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license is essential.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required upon hire.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification must be obtained within six months of employment.
  • Specialty certification is highly encouraged within two years of hire.

Work Environment

This position is full-time, primarily during night shifts, with a standard weekly schedule of 36 hours.
