Aircraft Rescue Firefighter

Northrop Grumman is seeking a highly skilled Aircraft Rescue Firefighter to join our team in Melbourne, Florida. As a member of our Airline Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) team, you will be responsible for responding to actual and potential ground flight emergencies, performing duties with limited supervision, and maintaining a high level of physical fitness.
Key Responsibilities- Prevent or extinguish fires and rescue aircraft crew members
- Operate and maintain ARFF firefighting vehicles, tools, and rescue equipment
- Preposition emergency vehicles at the scene to apply extinguishing agents as necessary for fire control and/or facilitate self-evacuation of aircraft occupants
- Accomplish rescue operations in the event of a mishap
- Perform standbys for aircraft operations, including engine runs, fueling, and defueling, and all other related aircraft hazardous activities
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- At least 5 years of Aircraft Rescue Firefighting (ARFF) experience
- Ability to maintain and obtain a DoD Secret clearance within a reasonable amount of time
- Qualified as an ARFF vehicle driver/operator
- Ability to pass a firefighter physical
