Position Overview: As a key member of the Early Intervention program, the Physical Therapist will assist clients in enhancing or recovering physical and mental capabilities through tailored programs aimed at addressing motor delays and various conditions. This role also encompasses essential administrative responsibilities to support the overarching goals of the program.

Core Responsibilities:
· Formulates innovative strategies, plans, and procedures for the initiation, enhancement, and assessment of therapy programs.

  • Conducts initial assessments and follow-up evaluations for clients; assesses patient conditions and identifies their needs; determines the necessity for physical therapy evaluations and selects appropriate assessment tools.
  • Prepares documentation and participates in multidisciplinary case discussions to evaluate and refine ongoing treatment plans.
  • Maintains clinical and administrative documentation in line with professional standards, state regulations, and agency policies; complies with federal and state laws governing physical therapy practice.
  • Engages in continuous professional development to ensure adherence to best practices and to fulfill Nevada Licensure requirements.
  • Attends bi-monthly staff meetings and participates in staff training sessions.
  • Receives case assignments based on the needs of Capability Health in the Early Intervention and outpatient clinic programs.
  • Effectively manages a diverse range of patient personalities.
  • Analyzes evaluation data and composes comprehensive reports that highlight client strengths and barriers to participation; informs program development and directs evidence-based interventions.
  • Upholds the professional Code of Ethics and standards of practice to guide ethical decision-making.
  • Undertakes additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Competencies:
· Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.

  • Capability to work effectively with individuals facing severe disabilities who may exhibit developmental and behavioral challenges.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and exercising discretion in the workplace.

Qualifications:
· Certification from the National Board for Physical Therapy is mandatory.

  • A valid Physical Therapy License from the State of Nevada is required.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience working with children, demonstrating knowledge of treatment practices relevant to the discipline.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certifications are essential.
  • A valid driver's license is necessary.
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and local legislation, regulations, and policies that govern physical therapy practice is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel) is essential.

Close vision is required.

Work Environment:
This position necessitates up to 80% travel within the designated service area, which may involve exposure to varying outdoor weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, wind, and humidity.
