Gallery Director

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Art Gallery Manager to oversee the operations, management, and strategic vision of our art gallery. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the arts, sales, excellent leadership skills, and a proven ability to build relationships with artists, patrons, and the broader community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sales: Selling in person, online, email, social media, and in-home appointments. Monitor Total Sales of the gallery and Associates' sales. Work toward meeting benchmarks. Facilitate commissions with applicable artists on behalf of clients.
• Curatorial Leadership: Develop and curate engaging exhibitions that reflect the gallery's mission. Collaborate with artists, collectors, and other galleries to acquire new works and plan exhibitions. Research and identify emerging artists and trends.
• Gallery Management: Oversee day-to-day operations, including staffing, budgeting, inventory, and facility management. Manage and lead a team of gallery sales representatives, Brand Ambassador, and administrative personnel. Ensure the gallery space is well-maintained, organized, and aesthetically appealing.
• Marketing and Community Engagement: Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote exhibitions, events, and First Fridays. Organize and host events, including exhibition openings, artist talks, and community events. Build and maintain relationships with artists, patrons, collectors, and community organizations. Enhance the gallery's presence through social media, press releases, and other digital platforms.
• Financial Management: Prepare and manage financial reports, and sales forecasts. Develop strategies to increase sales and revenue, including managing art sales, sponsorships, and fundraising efforts. Monitor inventory and oversee the pricing and sale of artworks.
• Strategic Planning: Define and execute the gallery's vision and long-term strategic goals. Identify opportunities for growth, partnerships, and collaborations within the art community. Ensure the gallery's programs and initiatives align with its mission and values.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Art History, Fine Arts, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
• Proven experience in a leadership role within a gallery, museum, or cultural organization, or sales team.
• Strong knowledge of contemporary and historical art, as well as current market trends.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
