Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and direct dock employees to achieve operational excellence
  • Manage dock planning and scheduling to optimize efficiency and productivity
  • Enforce compliance with company policies, safety rules, and government regulations
  • Participate in hiring and termination processes
  • Administer and implement terminal business plans
  • Meet key performance indicators (KPIs) and utilize company enhancement tools
  • Review and revise schedules to increase efficiency and reduce costs
  • Coordinate equipment assignment and movement
  • Ensure proper communication with customers
  • Oversee and manage dock paperwork and documentation
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred
  • Thorough understanding of the LTL trucking industry and basic paperwork flow
  • Prior management, dispatch, and dock experience required
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Good computer skills, including AS/400 and MS Office
  • Ability to work 50 hours per week, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to lift 20 pounds or more
  • Compliance with company policies, rules, and Code of Conduct
Work Environment

The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level can be loud, and the employee may be required to work in high-precarious places, with hazardous materials, and in various weather conditions.
