Job Summary

We are seeking a talented Structural Design Engineer to join our team at Nelson-Rudie & Associates, Inc.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented engineer to work on a variety of building and construction projects. As a Structural Design Engineer, you will be responsible for performing routine engineering tasks under the supervision of a Professional Engineer (PE).

You will have the opportunity to develop your skills and take on more complex projects as you gain experience. We are looking for someone who is organized, able to multitask, and comfortable working independently and in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform project-related tasks, including developing, preparing, and reviewing engineering plans, designs, reports, or studies.
  • Conduct structural design and analysis calculations, generate drawings, and prepare specifications.
  • Review shop drawings, RFIs, and vendor documents as needed.
  • Attend project meetings, jobsite visits, and conduct on-site investigations/assessments as required.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (with a structural emphasis) or a related discipline.
  • Experience working on buildings as a structural EIT or intern is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Revit, and AutoCAD, as well as current structural engineering software.
  • The ability to navigate and apply national, state, and local codes, as well as American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) standards.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
