Job Summary

Comfort Keepers is seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with activities of daily living.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-on-one in-home care services, including companion care and personal care, to ensure the senior client's safety, health, and comfort.
  • Assist with grooming and hygiene, mobility, transferring, and positioning.
  • Prepare meals and perform light housekeeping and laundry tasks.
  • Accompany clients on grocery shopping and errands, and provide transportation as needed.
  • Remind clients of medication schedules and work with clients who have dementia or Alzheimer's.
Requirements
  • Minimum 6 months of caregiving experience preferred.
  • Ability to stand, walk, squat, bend, kneel, reach, twist, push, and pull, with varied assistance depending on the client's ability.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs as needed throughout the shift.
  • High level visual and hearing acuity and verbal communication required.
  • Applicants must be bondable and meet or exceed minimum qualifications for criminal background investigation and motor vehicle driving record.
  • Permission to submit to pre-employment, reasonable suspicion, and post-accident drug and alcohol testing.
  • Must have a valid South Carolina Driver's License and reliable transportation.
  • Self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision.
  • Empathy for the needs of the client and ability to treat clients, families, staff, and the public with courtesy and respect.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and ensure confidentiality and security of client medical information.
