Job Overview:
Beacon Orthopaedic Partners MSO LLC is seeking a highly skilled Medical Support Specialist to join our team. As a Medical Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing exceptional support to our physicians and staff in a fast-paced medical environment.

About the Role:
This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday with occasional Saturdays on call. The successful candidate will be based out of Summit and will be required to travel to other locations as needed.

Responsibilities:
  • General Responsibilities:
    • Attend department meetings as required.
    • Demonstrate sound judgment in taking appropriate actions regarding questionable findings or concerns.
    • Work in a positive and cooperative manner with fellow staff members.
    • Respond to changing situations in a flexible manner to meet current needs.
    • Attend required annual in-service programs.
    • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of all company policies and procedures.
    • Achieve facility safety requirements and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Specific Duties:
    • Complete EMR intake at time of service.
    • Escort patients to room.
    • Review H&P for new patients and/or new problems prior to physician seeing the patient.
    • Provide medical assistance as needed (casting, suture removal, draw injections, record prescriptions, start IV's).
    • Give instructions to patients regarding issues with casts.
    • Assist with physical therapy requests, off work requests, school notes.
    • Assign coding procedures performed and diagnosis determined by physician. Document on encounter form.
    • Review encounter form for completeness and accuracy of coding.
    • Receive and reply to medical-related messages and prescription requests from patients.
    • Communicate with physicians and staff.
    • Comply with OSHA regulations - bio-hazardous disposal.
    • Order medical supplies as needed.
    • Assist with medical records filing when necessary.
    • Dispose of expired medications.
    • Facilitate scheduling outpatient testing and pre-certification for MRI, CT, Bonescan, Dexascan, and other tests as necessary.
    • Ensure exam rooms and clinic work areas are clean and tidy at all times.
    • Participate in Saturday on-call if necessary.
    • Travel to other locations as needed.

Estimated Salary: $45,000 - $60,000 per annum, depending on experience.
