Memorial Healthcare System is seeking a skilled Lactation Specialist to join our team. As a Lactation Specialist, you will provide direct patient care and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide high-quality patient care in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to coordinate patient care, including disposition, referral, and spiritual and psychosocial support needs.
- Monitor and document patient condition as appropriate.
- Precept student nurses and new hires as needed.
- Nursing experience required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required for ICU, ED, PACU, Endo, Tele, OB, and MHN Pre-Op areas.
- PALS certification required for Pediatric areas (with the exception of NICU).
- NRP certification required for NICU.
- Certification in Fetal Monitoring through National Credential Center or through AWOHNN (Intermediate or Advanced) for L&D RNs.
This role requires working in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision, using critical thinking skills, effective communication skills, and decisive judgment.
