Hospice Physician PRN Job Description

BAYADA Home Health Care is seeking a skilled Hospice Physician PRN to join our team. As a Hospice Physician PRN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and collaborating with our interdisciplinary team to ensure excellent client service, clinical care, quality, and adherence to policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with office and field staff to ensure excellent client service, clinical care, quality, and adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Manage hospice associates, medical physicians, consulting physicians, and collaborating mid-level providers.
  • Improve access to hospice services through business development, networking, and educational outreach to physicians, hospitals, facilities, and community groups.
  • Participate in Interdisciplinary Team meetings to coordinate all aspects of hospice care provided to patients.
  • Develop, evaluate, and update written plans of care for patients.
  • Manage oversight of medications and treatment.
  • Contribute to patient and family counseling and education.
  • Provide on-call coverage 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Assist in the completion of any necessary forms for third-party reimbursement.
  • Attend orientation and in-service training programs.
  • Conduct periodic in-service training programs for hospice staff and volunteers.
  • Participate in research and education related to hospice and palliative care.
Requirements:
  • Licensure: Hospice Physician is and shall remain duly licensed to practice medicine or osteopathy without restriction in the applicable state[s] of practice.
  • Graduate of an accredited and approved medical program as required based on state regulations.
  • Professional Standards; Compliance with Law: Hospice Physician shall always comply with the ethics and professional standards of the medical profession; applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations, including those related to the health and safety of patients.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of recent, verifiable, related clinical experience, preferably at least one (1) year in hospice, palliative, or home care.
  • Prior supervisory experience commensurate with program requirements.
  • Demonstrated record of strong interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated record of goal achievement.
  • Completed criminal background and federal/state program exclusions checks.
  • Competence in basic PC skills required to perform job functions.
  • Completed Continuing Education Requirements (CEUs) as required by regulation.
