Position Overview:
The Lead Automotive Service Technician is responsible for utilizing extensive experience and technical knowledge to accurately diagnose and repair various vehicle systems, including drivability, air conditioning, and electrical components. This role requires strong leadership and mentoring abilities to enhance team performance and elevate customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair vehicle systems to manufacturer specifications, including brake and hydraulic systems, exhaust, fuel ignition, electrical, suspension, alignment, air conditioning, and computer systems.
- Perform all duties associated with lower-level technician roles (Technician A, Technician B, Mechanic, General Service Technician).
- Effectively communicate technical diagnoses and necessary repairs to customers and non-technical staff as needed.
- Engage in continuous learning through formal training sessions to keep up with the evolving automotive technology landscape.
- Assist fellow technicians and mechanics in technical tasks and problem-solving.
- Keep management informed of mechanical repair issues as they arise.
- Maintain a clean and organized workshop environment.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, safety protocols, and environmental regulations.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership within the workshop, fostering a collaborative and team-oriented atmosphere. To assess your suitability for this role, please review the following requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 5 years of substantial automotive mechanical diagnosis, problem-solving, and repair experience.
- Preferred: 8 or more ASE certifications (A1 through A8).
- Section 609 Certification required.
- State Inspection license, if applicable.
- High motivation, energy, and a customer-centric approach.
- Valid driver's license.
- Successful completion of a drug screening.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
