Job Summary

The Pascua Yaqui Tribe is seeking a highly skilled Ombudsman to provide individual, family, and community services that promote the well-being of Pascua Yaqui elders and families.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Perform a variety of duties as an advocate to tribal members age 55 and over, providing consolation, referral, intervention, mediation, and representation to the elderly and their caregivers.
  2. Provide benefits and eligibility counseling to the elderly, maintaining relationships with community services, nursing homes, state agencies, and federal agencies that impact the elderly.
  3. Represent the tribe through participation in community activities, maintaining records and demographics on services provided.
  4. Coordinate with and provide direct services and support for the Long Term Care Certified Advocates Program.
  5. Assist the Liogue Senior Center Program Manager by participating in management team decision-making processes.
Requirements
  • Associate Degree in Gerontology, Social Services, or Psychology, and three years of experience.
  • Ombudsman Certification, or ability to obtain within six months.
  • Current Arizona Driver's License.
  • Age 55 and over preferred.
  • Ability to pass a TB skin test.
