Job SummaryThe Pascua Yaqui Tribe is seeking a highly skilled Ombudsman to provide individual, family, and community services that promote the well-being of Pascua Yaqui elders and families.
Key Responsibilities- Perform a variety of duties as an advocate to tribal members age 55 and over, providing consolation, referral, intervention, mediation, and representation to the elderly and their caregivers.
- Provide benefits and eligibility counseling to the elderly, maintaining relationships with community services, nursing homes, state agencies, and federal agencies that impact the elderly.
- Represent the tribe through participation in community activities, maintaining records and demographics on services provided.
- Coordinate with and provide direct services and support for the Long Term Care Certified Advocates Program.
- Assist the Liogue Senior Center Program Manager by participating in management team decision-making processes.
- Associate Degree in Gerontology, Social Services, or Psychology, and three years of experience.
- Ombudsman Certification, or ability to obtain within six months.
- Current Arizona Driver's License.
- Age 55 and over preferred.
- Ability to pass a TB skin test.
