Position Overview

Core Responsibilities:


Under the guidance of the school principal or designated authority, the instructor will establish a conducive learning environment and design an instructional program that meets the educational goals for the assigned grade level.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and promote standards of student conduct that align with district expectations, ensuring a productive classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with supervisors to set objectives and implement a curriculum that meets established standards.
  • Design educational activities tailored to the diverse needs, abilities, and backgrounds of students.
  • Assess and monitor student progress and performance regularly.
  • Engage in communication with students, parents, colleagues, and administration regarding student development.
  • Provide guidance and support to students, working alongside other staff to address academic and personal challenges.
  • Oversee students during extracurricular activities throughout the school day.
  • Participate in additional activities as per the collective bargaining agreement.
  • Enhance professional skills through ongoing development opportunities.
  • Deliver the district's prescribed curriculum while adhering to state and district standards.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive records and reports related to student activities and progress.
  • Utilize various office and classroom technologies effectively.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

Knowledge of:

  • Fundamental subjects taught in elementary education, including mathematics, reading, writing, and language arts.
  • Proper English usage, grammar, and vocabulary.
  • Child development principles relevant to students in grades TK-8.
  • Classroom management techniques and appropriate student behavior.
  • Applicable laws, regulations, and district policies.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Interpersonal skills that demonstrate patience and respect.
  • Record-keeping and report preparation methods.
  • Operation of standard office and classroom technology.

Ability to:

  • Build rapport with all students.
  • Understand district operations, policies, and objectives.
  • Learn and apply departmental goals and objectives.
  • Interpret and explain policies and regulations clearly.
  • Communicate effectively in both oral and written formats.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Analyze situations and determine appropriate actions.
  • Organize and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate records and generate reports.
  • Utilize standard office and classroom equipment proficiently.
  • Demonstrate consistent attendance and punctuality.
  • Perform tasks requiring manual dexterity, such as operating a computer keyboard.
  • Effectively communicate information.
  • Read and comprehend a variety of materials.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid teaching credential for the appropriate grade level and/or subject area.
  • CLAD/CTEL certification or equivalent.

Reporting Structure:
Reports to the Site Administrator or designated representative.

Additional Information:

This position is full-time, Monday through Friday, with designated working hours.
