The Lamar State College-Port Arthur is seeking a qualified Adjunct Instructor to teach philosophy classes in a correctional education setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction and leadership in the implementation of curriculum.
Key Responsibilities- Teach philosophy classes to inmates using face-to-face delivery
- Develop and implement curriculum-based outcomes
- Maintain current knowledge and expertise in the subject area of teaching responsibility
- Complete all necessary paperwork within required timeframes
- Attend faculty meetings and professional development as required
- Master's degree and 18 graduate hours in philosophy or a closely related field
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of students from diverse backgrounds
- Valid Texas Driver's License
- Doctorate in philosophy degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education
- Ability to understand teaching and evaluation methodologies
- Ability to deal with students, faculty, and staff members in a professional manner
