Clean Earth is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Technician II to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient treatment of inbound waste streams.
Key Responsibilities- Treatment and Processing: You will be responsible for treating and processing waste with onsite equipment, including pit mixing, drum pumping, drum dumping, and basic hi-lo and wheel loader skills.
- Sample Collection: You will collect samples of inbound waste for compatibility and ensure that all necessary paperwork is completed in accordance with our practices and procedures.
- Equipment Operation: You will operate hi-lo and end loaders in a safe and efficient manner, with a focus on minimizing waste and maximizing productivity.
- Waste Stream Knowledge: You will have a thorough understanding of our waste streams and their treatment protocols, and be able to communicate this information to colleagues and management as needed.
- Experience: 2+ years of prior experience working with hazardous materials is required.
- Equipment Operation: You must be able to operate equipment, including a forklift and pallet jack, and have a safe driving record.
- Personal Protective Equipment: You must be able to wear company-provided personal protective equipment, including eye protection, steel-toed shoes, hard hat, gloves, Tyvek coveralls, and respirator.
- Communication: You must be able to read, write, and speak in English, and have good attendance and safe work history.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Windows-based programs, including Excel and Word, is preferred.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and RCRA regulations is preferred.
- Teamwork: You must be able to work in a team environment or alone based on business needs.
