Position: Direct Support Worker (DSW)

Role Summary

The Direct Support Worker is dedicated to assisting individuals with disabilities who manage their own care. This role involves providing support with daily activities and tasks as outlined in their personalized care plan. Responsibilities may include helping with daily living activities, personal hygiene, meal preparation, and maintaining a clean living environment. Additionally, the role may require assisting clients with grocery shopping, attending medical appointments, and running errands as necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Assist individuals with tasks tailored to their specific disability needs in accordance with their care plan.
  2. Encourage and facilitate activities that promote independence and support the individual in their home environment.
  3. Provide transportation for clients as required.
  4. Support individuals in attending appointments and participating in community activities.
  5. Ensure a safe and tidy living space for the individual.
  6. Maintain communication with SKIL Fiscal Agent regarding necessary documentation, including hire packets, activity logs, and hours worked.

Qualifications

  1. Must be at least 18 years old.
  2. Possess a valid Driver's License.
  3. Have prior experience in direct care roles.
  4. Pass background checks without issues.
