Handyman Technician

We are seeking a skilled Handyman to join our team at Family Life Academy Charter Schools. As a Handyman, you will be responsible for maintaining the interior and exterior of our schools, ensuring that our facilities are clean, safe, and well-maintained.

• Clean and maintain facilities, including sweeping, dusting, and performing routine maintenance tasks.
• Perform light repairs and maintenance on equipment, appliances, and other facilities-related items.
• Assist with landscaping and groundskeeping, including mowing, pruning, and other tasks as needed.
• Paint and fill gaps or crevices on walls, sidewalks, and other surfaces.
• Undertake light installation or carpentry tasks, such as building cabinets or shelves.
• Repair equipment or appliances, and assist tradespeople with electrical, plumbing, or HVAC repairs.
• Identify and report the need for major repairs or maintenance.
• Perform other duties as assigned or as needed.

• Proven experience as a handyman or in a related field.
• Experience with hardware tools and electrical equipment.
• Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, or HVAC systems.
• Good communication skills and ability to work independently.
• Well-organized and able to prioritize tasks effectively.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• FDNY S95 and/or S12 certifications required within 90 days.
