Tractor Operator

The Department of State Hospitals is seeking a skilled Tractor Operator-Laborer to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for operating heavy tractors and attachments used in various tasks such as tilling soil, planting, and harvesting, as well as performing related laboring work.

• Operate heavy tractors and attachments to perform tasks such as tilling soil, planting, and harvesting.
• Perform related laboring work, including operating trucks and other power equipment.
• May instruct, lead, or supervise inmates, wards, or resident workers.
• Assist in various construction and maintenance projects, including mowing and/or discing weeds in unimproved areas, blading fire trails, and hauling and/or moving materials.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of heavy equipment operation and maintenance, as well as excellent communication and leadership skills. You will also need to be able to work independently and as part of a team, and be able to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
