Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the preparation and presentation of meals, ensuring adherence to Bristal recipes and community guidelines.
  • Assist the Director of Food Service with food procurement, storage, and compliance with sanitation and safety regulations.
  • Take charge of the culinary department in the absence of the Director, ensuring smooth operations.
  • Maintain exemplary personal hygiene and professional appearance in accordance with company standards.
  • Implement portion control measures to promote the health and wellbeing of residents and staff.
  • Utilize and maintain kitchen equipment according to manufacturer guidelines and safety protocols.
  • Complete all required documentation accurately and promptly, including temperature logs and incident reports.
  • Participate in special dining events and enhance resident dining experiences through creative culinary presentations.
  • Respond to resident inquiries and requests with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Assist in training and onboarding new kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Adapt to changing needs within the kitchen and assist team members as necessary.
  • Adhere to safety practices, including infection control measures and OSHA standards, to ensure a safe workplace.
  • Fulfill additional duties as assigned by the Director of Food Service.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in food preparation and handling, with a focus on sanitation and safety standards.
  • Familiarity with local and state health regulations.
  • Experience in supervising kitchen operations.
  • Proficient in the use of kitchen equipment and food preparation techniques.
  • High School diploma required; culinary school education preferred.
  • Ability to read and comprehend English, follow recipes, and adhere to instructions.
