Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bartender to join our team at Westgate Resorts. As a Bartender, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and creating a memorable experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and serve beverages as ordered by our wait staff and cocktail servers.
  • Provide a friendly, courteous, and timely service to our guests, resulting in high levels of satisfaction.
  • Greet guests in a welcoming and professional manner.
  • Promote and document orders for drinks, reciting the selection of all call and premium brands as requested.
  • Mix, garnish, and present drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practicing prudent portion control.
  • Input orders into a register at the point of sale and create a check for each guest/party.
  • Replenish beverages as requested and frequently check back with guests to inquire about their satisfaction.
  • Present the guest with the check promptly, thanking them and inviting them to return.
  • Receive cash from guests, make change as needed, verify validity, and record charges.
  • Respond to guest inquiries and provide assistance, direction, and information within hotel guidelines.
  • Maintain proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a daily basis and ensure the cleanliness of guest areas at all times.
Requirements
  • Ability to remember, recite, and promote the variety of menu items and hotel services.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language and utilize math skills for recipes, measurements, and guest checks.
  • Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language to provide guest service and satisfaction and communicate with other employees.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language to comprehend and follow written and/or verbal instructions from management, guests, and other employees.
  • Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register, receive cash from guests, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, total all other charges, and understand portion sizes.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and awkward positions, requiring standing, crouching, kneeling, stooping, and reaching overhead for extended periods of time.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity of hand to use a cork screw, knives, and ice scoop.
  • Ability to operate a cash register, soda gun, liquor gun, blender, knife, corkscrew, telephone, and ice scoop.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language in case of emergency situations and to read caution and/or safety notices.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language clearly to ascertain and document important information, to follow written and/or verbal instructions, and to provide clear direction and guidance.
  • Ability to relate to all levels of management, guests, and employees in verbal and written form.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language to comprehend product labeling instructions to enable the safe application of products and processes.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language to complete job requirements and communicate with other employees.
  • Ability to remain alert throughout the duration of the shift and remain calm during emergency situations.
