Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Systems Specialist to join our team at the Lexington Fayette Urban Co Government. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing skilled work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical and electronic systems.


Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to and troubleshoot electrical equipment issues, including pumps, motors, and motor control systems.
  • Ensure fire safety and security devices are functioning properly and maintained to prevent malfunctions.
  • Diagnose electrical problems and design, modify, and install existing and new equipment.
  • Perform basic electrical duties, including installing and repairing conduit and wiring, interpreting blueprints, and using hand and power tools.
  • Order and maintain electrical equipment inventory.
  • Assist with new projects and repairs as needed and attend design meetings with engineers.
  • Help size, layout, quote, install, and maintain electrical equipment.
  • Attend safety meetings to remain in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and LFUCG requirements.
  • May supervise employees.

Requirements
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Eight (8) years of related experience.
  • Additional years of related education may substitute for years of related experience.

Special Requirements
  • Masters Electrician License issued by the State of Kentucky.
  • Must be accessible for on-call duty.

Working Conditions

This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines and may involve working at heights, in confined spaces, and with hazardous materials.
