Key Responsibilities:
DISH Wireless is in search of a seasoned technical expert with extensive engineering experience to lead a team engaged in intricate tasks from design to implementation, including: RF market designs, software model optimization, ACP runs, site selection, cluster optimization, and post-launch network performance metrics.
In this position, you will:
Oversee a small to medium-sized team of skilled RF engineers, establishing objectives and deliverables.
Design network performance strategies to achieve targeted KPIs while addressing complex technical challenges on both local and national scales.
Manage a market characterized by a higher-than-average site count, geography, or scope, frequently leading regional and national initiatives.
Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with each team member and recruit, develop, and guide a highly competent technical workforce.
Collaborate with local teams (Site Acquisition, Zoning, Construction, Transport, Program Management) to enhance the DISH Wireless network.
Continuously coordinate and consult with the National RF Planning team.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
A Bachelor’s degree in a technical or engineering field with 5 to 10 years of RF engineering experience.
At least 2 years of experience in managing personnel, including staff augmentation through contractors or consultants.
Skills and Expertise:
A comprehensive understanding of all technical roles managed and RF-specific competencies (Planet, X-Cal, Tems, Nemo, Atoll, Windcatcher, RFDS, RF Antenna Theory).
Experience with drive test equipment, processes, and result analysis, along with core network functions (DU, CU, RU, EMS, PaaS, IP Networks).
Excellent oral and written communication skills, capable of simplifying complex subjects for diverse audiences and presenting in large forums.
Effective collaboration with senior management, workgroups, vendors, and the ability to cultivate relationships across markets and national teams.
