Job Overview

At MS Technology, Inc., we are seeking an experienced Automation and Controls Specialist to join our team. This is a challenging role that requires a strong background in instrumentation and control systems development.

About the Job

The successful candidate will have 5+ years of expertise in instrumentation and control system development, with experience working with nuclear instrumentation and control systems preferred. We offer a competitive salary range of $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.

Responsibilities

  • I&C Design

Create detailed designs for process systems, including controls, instrumentation, data collection, electro-mechanical, automation & robotics, and connectivity.

  • Design Collaboration

Work closely with system and mechanical engineers, designers, and analysts to develop detailed designs.

  • Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams

Support mechanical engineers in developing process flow diagrams and piping and instrumentation diagrams.

  • I&C System Development

Develop functional requirement and procurement specifications for instrumentation and control systems.

  • Process Instrumentation

Design, specify, and procure process instrumentation.

  • Control Systems

Design and implement control systems for pumps, valves, heat exchangers, etc.

  • HMI Development

Create human machine interface (HMI) screens and develop panel wiring and interconnect cabling diagrams.

  • PLC and DCS Development

Develop specifications for Programmable Logic Control (PLC) or Distributed Control systems (DCS) and components and instrumentation.

  • Testing and Troubleshooting

Author I&C system hardware descriptions, develop troubleshooting plans and failure mode analysis documents, and author factory acceptance test procedures.

Requirements

  • Education

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university program; MSc is preferred.

  • Experience

5+ years of expertise in instrumentation and control system development.

  • Qualifications

U.S. Citizenship required. Ability to obtain and maintain US security clearance is preferred.
