Clinical Therapist

Clinician I is a key role within our organization, responsible for providing and conducting trauma-informed groups using trauma-informed curricula. This position works collaboratively with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR), DRP, CCHS, and DAI institution staff.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver Services: Conduct group and/or individual sessions with participants, evaluating and documenting their progress.
- Evaluate and Document Progress: Work individually with each participant to develop and implement a treatment/action plan, engaging participants daily and reinforcing group rules and expectations.
- Participate in Case Conferences: Provide guidance in determining education and vocational goals based on the interest and preferences of each participant, in addition to individualized assessments.
- Maintain Supervision: Develop treatment plans, review client files, and conduct initial and ongoing client assessments, documenting the delivery of services in ARMS.
- Collaborate with Staff: Work collaboratively with CDCR/CCHCS and institutional staff, as well as Facilitator Inmates and OMCP Mentors as needed during group sessions.
- Provide Clinical Verification: Responsible for providing clinical verification of internship hours for registered Clinician Staff and OMCP Mentors.
- Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.
- Education and Experience: A Ph.D. in a social service or mental health field with at least one year of experience working in a licensed and/or certified program delivering SUDT and/or mental health services, or a Master's Degree in a social service or mental health field with at least two years of experience in a similar setting.
- Licensure: All Clinicians shall be licensed by the Board of Behavioral Sciences and maintain a current and active license, which is in good standing without current disciplinary action with their respective licensing board.
- Skills and Knowledge: Understanding of causes, symptoms, and effects of substance abuse, appreciation for the behavioral, psychological, physical, and social effects of drug abuse, and operational knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Access.
- Personal Qualities: Ability to provide genuine warmth, empathy, and honest sensitivity to program participants, develop a treatment alliance with participants, and demonstrate ethical behavior in order to maintain professional standards and safeguard the participant.
