GENERAL OVERVIEW:
The Carton Quality Inspector is responsible for examining packaging for any defects and preparing products for distribution. During the setup of gluers, the inspector will assist in the Sorting Area.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensures that case label details match the carton and the Electronic Job Jacket.
Confirms case quantities against the case label at the start of production.
Responsible for collecting samples for quality audits.
Pulls samples from each case to check for proper folding and adhesion.
Marks the final case of an order with blue tape.
Labels the last partial case appropriately.
Flags non-conforming cartons with a visible marker on each case.
When utilizing source tag application, the inspector must pull three consecutive cartons from each row and verify tag activation using the designated tag verifier.
Maintains cleanliness and general orderliness of the gluer area and the department.
Oversees the flat packing procedure.
Sorts cartons in Work-in-Process (WIP) and rework areas for quality issues.
Feeds the gluer as required.
Adheres to all regulations, policies, operational procedures, safety protocols, security measures, and directives.
Performs all tasks in compliance with established safety policies, including the use of all necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) while executing duties.
This role is essential in maintaining departmental standards in accordance with 5S and SQF guidelines, and any food safety concerns must be reported to management immediately.
REQUIREMENTS:
A high school diploma or equivalent G.E.D. is mandatory.
Preferred: 1 year of relevant experience in a manufacturing setting or equivalent education and training.
Completion of cGMP training and Departmental QOP training is necessary.
Must pass a color vision test; good eyesight is essential.
Successful completion of Company pre-employment assessments is required.
Strong problem-solving abilities.
Capability to follow both written and verbal instructions.
Effective communication skills.
Ability to collaborate within a team environment.
Proficient mathematical skills, including a solid understanding of measurements.
Quality-focused - sets high standards, consistently maintains them, ensures work is done correctly the first time, and reviews work for errors, making necessary corrections to produce accurate results.
Production-oriented - delivers an adequate volume of work, remains efficient, and manages multiple tasks. Must be capable of performing these duties in a fast-paced environment for extended periods.
Basic computer literacy.
Ability to stand for prolonged periods.
