KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordination and Planning
Oversee and manage assistant superintendents, contractors, and craft activities within a designated discipline. Cultivate and strengthen client relationships through exceptional service.
Project Implementation
- Ensure all materials, equipment, and inspections align with the project timeline.
- Assess construction documents for thoroughness and feasibility.
- Interpret and clarify contract documents.
- Collaborate with design engineers to resolve discrepancies in plans and specifications.
- Assist in the creation and management of project schedules, including three and six-week forecasts.
- Formulate a comprehensive site logistics strategy.
- Utilize Mortenson tools and equipment effectively.
- Engage with project partner superintendents collaboratively.
- Conduct on-site orientations for project personnel.
- Facilitate productive pre-construction planning sessions and site meetings.
- Supervise project partners, craft foremen, and teams.
- Manage the hiring, transferring, and if necessary, dismissal of craft team members.
- Mentor assistant superintendents and craft team members.
- Ensure accurate task coding of work hours on time cards.
- Monitor work progress and craft productivity.
- Oversee training for craft team members to ensure readiness.
- Engage in career development discussions with foremen and craft personnel.
Foster effective collaboration with individuals from diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.
Leadership
Lead by example, providing constructive coaching and feedback while managing team performance effectively.
Additional Responsibilities
- Oversee safety, quality, risk, and compliance management for the project and team members.
- Identify and address unfavorable working conditions.
- Seek continuous improvement opportunities in processes and procedures.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering, or Construction Management, or 10 years of relevant trade experience.
- A minimum of eight years in construction, with at least two years in a supervisory role.
- Valid driver's license.
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects effectively.
- Detail-oriented with the capacity to organize and oversee various project tasks.
- Basic knowledge of construction law and standard business practices.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Exhibit a positive, professional demeanor and strong customer service skills.
- Ability to interpret and communicate company policies.
- Strong listening and communication skills, open to diverse perspectives and feedback.
