Job Overview

This position is for a Material Take-off Specialist at a leading fabrication facility.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed material and quantity assessments from isometric or orthographic schematics and generate purchase requisitions.
  • Ensure material requisitions align with client specifications and adhere to company protocols and policies.
  • Analyze and interpret comprehensive design drawings to execute material take-offs in line with client material requirements and associated documentation.
  • Examine client material specifications and related documents to confirm that material acquisitions meet all client criteria.
  • Review bid packages for lump sum projects to verify that required items from material take-offs match those included in the bidding phase.
  • Collaborate with Project Engineers and Project Managers to address any inconsistencies before material requisitioning.
  • Engage with Project Engineers to guarantee that necessary support items are requisitioned according to tagging and project-specific material needs.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a role that provides insight into piping materials and their various ASTM classifications.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Demonstrated organizational abilities, adaptability, and capacity to prioritize tasks effectively.
