Overview:

The Network Operations Center (NOC) Technician plays a critical role in overseeing the comprehensive functionality of the City’s Network Operations Center, which encompasses the City’s IT infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and assess the overall performance of the NOC.
  • Conduct thorough technical analyses to identify and resolve issues and outages within the Enterprise.
  • Provide Tier 2 problem resolution as necessary.
  • Document and escalate Tier 3 critical alerts to the relevant technical support teams.
  • Perform hands-on technical tasks including break/fix, rack/stack, and decommissioning of equipment.

Qualifications:

Candidates should possess:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar technical role.
  • Strong knowledge of Information Technology and Windows Operating systems, with a focus on troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in enterprise-level computer hardware/software and information systems.
  • Intermediate understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, Subnetting, Routing, DHCP, and DNS.
  • Experience with network, application, and server monitoring tools, such as SolarWinds Orion.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize tasks effectively.
  • Capability to interpret documented procedures and exercise sound judgment when guidelines are not clearly defined.

  • Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP)
  • CCNA Certification
  • CompTIA A+ Certification
  • CompTIA Network+ Certification
  • Experience with SolarWinds Orion Platform and Network Performance Monitor (NPM)
