Job Title: Per Diem Direct Support Professional

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Per Diem Direct Support Professional to join our team at Redwood Family Care Network. As a Per Diem Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in supporting adults with developmental or intellectual disabilities to live a higher quality of life.

About the Role:

As a Per Diem Direct Support Professional, you will be responsible for providing support to program participants that meets their needs, promoting community integration, and creating a nurturing, safe, and healthful living environment. You will work under the supervision of the Assistant Director and Administrators to ensure that participants receive the highest level of care and support.

  • Check in weekly with Assistant Directors or Administrators in regards to open shifts for the week.
  • Pick up shifts at multiple programs but must orient to plans before working with client.
  • Complete Per Diem checklist and trainings on a monthly basis.
  • Be familiar with the Residential Service Guidelines issued by the Division of Developmental Disabilities.
  • Provide each participant with an array of instruction and support services, as described in the participants Individual Instruction and Support Plan (IISP).
  • Ensure that the daily needs of the participants are met, including personal hygiene, food preparation, house cleaning, shopping, and monitoring of health needs, including supervision of medication.
  • Assist participants with regularly accessing the community to take part in a variety of outings of the participants choosing. This may require transporting participants or arranging for transportation.
  • Ensure that participants are treated with dignity and consideration at all times. Promote and safeguard each participants ability to make decisions and to freely exercise his or her rights.
  • Interact with participants, provide informal counseling and problem-solving with participants.
  • Attend staff meetings as required by the Program Supervisor or the Site Supervisor and/or Administrator.
  • Attend training offered/required by the agency, DDA, and other parties.
  • Take part in the development and implementation of the IISP for each participant with whom they work.
  • Will become Nurse Assistant Registered (NAR) at employees own expense initially and annually.
  • Must enroll and complete Nurse Delegation study course and take test within 30 days of employment.
  • Provide necessary support and supervision of participants.
  • Maintain professional working relationships with other services providers, the participants parents/relatives/guardians and other agency staff. Responsible for timely completion of all documentation, including, but not limited to, the medication log, shift notes, progress notes, data sheets, incident reports, and client financial records.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Supervisor or the Site Supervisor and/or the Administrator.
  • Must have a valid drivers license and car and must be willing to transport clients in own vehicle.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Both written and spoken English language proficiency required.
  • High School Diploma / Equivalent required.
  • Washington State Drivers License, a Reliable Vehicle, Auto Insurance, and must be willing to transport clients.
  • Must be located in & eligible/authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be willing to undergo a background check, in accordance with local law/regulations.
  • First Aid/CPR Certified (training can be provided).
  • Have an active NAR/HCA/CNA.
  • Have an active CPI certification (preferred).
  • Blood Borne Pathogen (within 120 days of employment, training can be provided).
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs.
  • Able to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Be fully vaccinated from Covid-19 (or have an approved exemption).
