Job Summary

Uncommon Schools is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated High School History Teacher to join our team in Rochester, NY. As a History Teacher, you will play a critical role in shaping the minds of our students and preparing them for success in college and beyond.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of all learners, with a focus on analysis, critical thinking, and effective communication.
  • Build strong relationships with students, colleagues, and parents to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum and instructional strategies that align with Uncommon Schools' mission and values.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current on best practices in teaching and learning.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, History, or a related field.
  • Experience working with students in urban schools and communities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
