Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Behavior Specialist to join our team at Haugland Learning Center LLC. As a Behavior Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting students with autism or emotional/behavioral disorders in achieving their academic and personal goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply behavioral science principles to tutor students and manage behaviors as needed.
  • Implement data-driven practices and run assigned programs.
  • Utilize Precision Teaching and discrete-trial training methods.
  • Implement direct instruction programs and techniques.
  • Use explicit instruction as assigned.
  • Perform habit training duties.
  • Record accurate data and maintain records.
  • Adhere to behavior management programs assigned to each student.
  • Arrange and maintain a safe and effective learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Ability to perform non-violent crisis intervention techniques, including verbal and physical redirection and guidance of potentially physically aggressive students during crisis situations.
  • Ability to react quickly and be sufficiently mobile to redirect students that could be injurious to themselves or others.
  • Ability to physically assist with evacuating students during emergency situations.
  • Full certification(s) in assigned crisis management programs.
