Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Certified Nursing Assistant Instructor to join our team at Anne Arundel Community College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in the Nursing Assistant program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and deliver instructional materials, labs, and supplies for the Nursing Assistant program.
  • Provide basic lab maintenance and track inventory of equipment and tools.
  • Relate instruction and material to course objectives and ensure student understanding.
  • Discuss and demonstrate workplace safety, personal/patient safety, and infection control procedures.
  • Communicate effectively and efficiently with students, faculty, and staff.
  • Submit grades, attendance, reports, and records in a timely manner.
  • Evaluate student performance in classroom, skills lab, and clinical environments.
  • Prepare students to sit for the Nursing Assistant Certification through the Maryland Board of Nursing (MBON).
Requirements
  • Current Maryland Registered Nurse (BSN preferred)
  • 2 years of Nursing Experience
  • 1 year of experience caring for the elderly/chronically ill within the past 5 years (long-term care experience)
  • 2 years of teaching experience or completion of the Principles of Adult Education (Train the Trainer) course (minimum of 16 hours)
  • Prior experience teaching CNA (preferred)
  • Registered Nurse with supervisory experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
