Job Title: Network Administrator III

Job Summary:

The Network Administrator III is a senior-level position responsible for overseeing and managing Trew's network and server infrastructure, both on-premises and in the cloud. This role is critical in ensuring that the organization's computer systems and networks are efficient, secure, and aligned with business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, configure, install, and maintain LAN/WAN hardware, software, and telecommunications equipment.
  • Work closely with other staff as needed to achieve needed IT administration and support.
  • Manage physical and cloud infrastructure across all sites and remote data centers.
  • Conduct regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Help set up and maintain disaster recovery documentation and processes.
  • Perform routine system management, updates, and upgrades.
  • Maintain and update documentation for infrastructure processes, procedures, and configurations.
  • Respond to and resolve IT incidents and service requests, prioritizing tasks to ensure timely resolution.
  • Oversee network and server assets and maintain an accurate and comprehensive enterprise asset inventory.
  • Monitor server backups and perform regular recovery tests.
  • Track security compliance for production systems through patching and configuration control.
  • Pro-actively review cybersecurity policies, systems, and events.
  • Assume responsibility and drive ownership for issue resolution.
  • Anticipate problems and complications then design solutions to prevent them.
  • Accountable for network and server uptime and optimization.
  • Mentor and train junior network administrators, providing guidance on best practices and advanced techniques.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in network protocols, routing, switching, firewalls, and other network technologies.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot network issues effectively.
  • Experience with Unifi, FortiGate, and Sophos network equipment is a plus.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft AZ-900, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+ etc.) are desirable.
  • Experience leading projects and small teams.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in network administration or a related field.
  • Proven experience in network planning, design, and implementation.

Work Environment:

This is primarily a desk-based role, requiring extended periods of sitting and computer use. While the role is mainly desk-based, mobility within the office, manufacturing facility and customer sites may be required for meetings and interactions with colleagues.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. Ability to traverse office, manufacturing facility and customer sites.
