Job Title: Service Technician

Job Summary:

Dobbs Equipment is seeking an experienced Service Technician to join our team. As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for performing high-quality maintenance and repair work on heavy equipment, ensuring maximum value for work performed and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, including lubrication and periodic maintenance.
  • Respond to customer needs in a positive, caring, and timely manner.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety rules and regulations.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Build strong relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • Prepare and submit reports and forms as required.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Participate in training programs to develop skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Valid Class B CDL Driver's License and a clean driving record.
  • Knowledge of industrial equipment maintenance and operation.
  • Ability to perform basic repairs and maintenance using special tools and equipment.
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment safely.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
  • Stay current with technical changes.
  • Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Maintains current product knowledge of John Deere and competitive products.
  • Forklift Certification.

Work Environment:

The Service Technician will work in a service shop setting and be exposed to changing temperatures, wet or humid conditions, noise, vibration, fumes, odors, dust, and close proximity to moving mechanical parts.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to work using Personal Protective Equipment, including respirators, welding shields, hard hats, vests, safety glasses, goggles, gloves, and etc.
  • Ability to use full range of motion for back, arms, hands, and fingers.
  • Able to use full range of motion for both legs, including climbing, twisting, squatting, and pushing with both legs.
  • Able to use hand tools, fuel hoses, lubrication systems on all equipment.
  • Able to climb onto or down from mobile construction equipment, typically 3-4 feet of climbing, for service and inspection.
