Primary Care Physician Opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Board Eligible/Board Certified Family Medicine/Internal Medicine Physician to join their dynamic healthcare team at the Bay Pines, FL VA Healthcare System.

Job Summary

As a Primary Care Physician, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to a daily or extended assigned defined panel of primary care patients. You will work as a member of an expanded healthcare team to oversee and coordinate medical care for a population of Veterans in a group practice setting utilizing the Patient Aligned Care Team model.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate preventive health care needs according to guidelines established by the Department of Veterans Affairs and sound medical practice.
  • Measure clinical performance based on quality reviews, completion of clinical reminders in CPRS, participation in medical center committees, and other methods.
  • Accommodate assigned patients' emergent needs and supervise Physician Assistants (PA), ARNPs, and Residents.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and functions as a team member.
  • Manage primary care profiles to ensure appropriate timeliness and care, including maintenance of health and treatment of illness.
  • Document and/or co-sign resident/fellow daily patient encounters appropriately and in a timely fashion.
  • Provide cost-effective care and refer patients to other specialized services only when appropriate.
Work Schedule and Benefits

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
