Position Overview

The Automotive Maintenance Team Leader will oversee skilled trades personnel to ensure efficient production processes and support the automation and control systems within manufacturing operations. This role involves planning project operations and setting priorities effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate activities in alignment with World Class Manufacturing (WCM) standards.
  • Manage the operation and training of the plant's Total Maintenance System (TMS) alongside Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) and plant schedules.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Availability for any shift is required.
  • A valid driver's license is mandatory.
  • High School Diploma or GED is essential.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial automation with project management exposure.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts and overtime as necessary.
  • Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal abilities to engage with employees across all levels, from hourly staff to senior management.
  • Capability to cultivate effective business relationships with plant leadership and clients.
  • Proficiency in managing multiple projects concurrently.
  • Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • Goal-oriented self-starter with leadership capabilities.
  • Experience in coaching, mentoring, and developing skilled trade personnel.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering discipline.
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Background in leading maintenance teams within a unionized environment.
  • Green Belt, Red X, or Six Sigma certification.
  • Familiarity with controls, robotics, drives, system-level communication systems, sealing systems, glass cell systems, various conveyance systems, and welding processes.
  • Knowledge of World Class Manufacturing pillar methodologies and their implementation.
  • Competence in Google Suite software programs.
