The Substitute Teacher plays a vital role in ensuring students receive a quality education in the absence of their regular teacher. This position requires a professional who can follow lesson plans, maintain a safe environment, and engage students in meaningful activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Follows the lesson plan(s) left by the teacher and ensures students complete all assigned tasks
- Maintains a safe and respectful environment for students
- Uses materials provided by the teacher or school
- Avoids engaging in or encouraging discussions of inappropriate or non-school related topics
- Becomes familiar with emergency procedures and protocols
- Notifies the school administration of any unusual incidents that occur during the school day
- Leaves information for the teacher concerning the day's activities
Requirements:
- At least 1 year of teaching experience
- Bachelor's degree required (have diploma or transcript of records available for reference)
