Key Position Details
  • 9 FTE (72 hours per two week schedule)
  • 9-hour day shifts
  • No weekends

Responsibilities

The Medical Support Professional will provide essential support to providers and nursing staff in delivering timely and quality patient healthcare services. Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with patient rooming, managing patient flow, and obtaining necessary medical information
  • Collecting patient information via interview, questionnaires, and vital signs, and accurately documenting in the electronic medical record
  • Assisting with specimen collection, labeling, and processing
  • Facilitating the retrieval of lab and imaging results and notifying providers of abnormalities
  • Working with electronic medical records, responding to messages as delegated by providers
  • Providing patient care tasks as delegated by providers or RNs
  • Performing injections and assisting with procedures
  • Providing patient information regarding test preparation, treatment plans, and health results
Requirements
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Education and/or experience needed to meet required principle competencies
  • Non-Certified Applicants with less than six months of Medical Assistant experience must have graduated from an accredited school with a clinical externship
  • Previous Medical Assistant experience and knowledge of medical terminology are preferred
  • Must meet at least one of the following requirements: Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association, Current BLS certification from the American Red Cross, or Allina in-house BLS training (within 30 days of hire)
