Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at Guthrie Clinic. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in supporting the needs of our practice, working within the maximum scope of your license.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians with duties necessary to support the needs of the practice.
  • Direct patients to exam rooms and prepare them for exams or treatments.
  • Interview patients to obtain medical histories, reconcile medication lists, and record information on charts.
  • Write or call prescriptions after obtaining surgeon/provider authorization.
  • Manage insurance referrals, follow up with specialists, and perform other clerical functions as needed.
  • Assist in maintaining a smooth departmental operation by filling in for other LPNs, clinical assistants, and MOAs as requested.
  • Attend to exam and procedure rooms, ensuring proper supplies are available and maintaining order and cleanliness.
  • Administer prescribed injections/medications and record them on patient charts.
  • Route patients to proper areas for ancillary testing or follow-up appointments.
  • Maintain basic knowledge of medications, including side effects and contraindications.
  • Read and review pathology results with patients.
  • Setup and tear down sterile fields, prepare surgical trays, and assist surgeons with operative procedures.
  • Maintain infection control measures, including proper cleaning of surgical equipment and use of autoclaves.
  • Proficiently use autoclave sterilization processes, knowledge of dressing changes, and suture removal.
  • Assess signs and symptoms of infection and report to surgeons and/or providers.
  • Comply with dress code policy and attend department meetings.
Requirements
  • Licensed in the state of practice.
  • One-year experience in the healthcare field preferred but not required.
