Job Summary

The Nurse Clinician is a key member of the Bridgeway team, responsible for providing high-quality outpatient nursing services to our clients. This role requires a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide informed consent and education to clients regarding medication purposes, side effects, and adverse reactions.
  • Assist in the coordination and maintenance of a tardive dyskinesia monitoring system, ensuring compliance with Rule 132 and CARF standards.
  • Offer case management services, medication monitoring, and training to mentally ill clients, ensuring their clinical course follows the treatment plan and is well-documented.
  • Work collaboratively with all Bridgeway departments to resolve problems and ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Assess clients' knowledge of medication and develop goals to enhance their understanding of mental illness, medication effects, and self-administration.
  • Monitor clients' physical and mental condition, providing necessary interventions to promote wellness.
  • Assist in the operation of the medication clinic, including client assessment, administration of long-acting injectable neuroleptics, and maintenance of supplies and records.
  • Implement the Clozaril management system in conjunction with psychiatric services, following established protocols.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree in an accredited nursing program.
  • Valid nursing license in Illinois.
  • Preferred experience working with elderly clients and one year of mental health experience.
  • Reliable transportation.
