Job Summary
The Charge Nurse is a key member of the Bothwell Regional Health Center team, responsible for delivering exceptional patient care and leading the Critical Care Unit team. This role requires a strong clinical background, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and guidance to the Critical Care Unit team, ensuring high-quality patient care and adherence to hospital policies and procedures.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and standards for the unit, in collaboration with the CCU Director and other stakeholders.
- Assume the duties of the CCU Director in their absence, ensuring seamless continuity of care.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care, including evaluations, scheduling, and education.
- Participate in committee and task force functions, contributing to hospital-wide initiatives and unit-specific projects.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation, as well as effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
Requirements
- Education: RN graduate of an accredited school of nursing, with a preference for a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
- Licensure/Certification: Valid, current license by the Missouri State Board of Nursing, with current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification/Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Work Experience: Successful completion of hospital orientation, with a minimum of one year of experience as a staff nurse in a critical care setting.
