Aluminum Finishing Technician

Join a leading organization where your skills can shine The Aluminum Finishing Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the effective operation of various machinery, including homogenizing furnaces, cooling chambers, band saws, and lathes within the finishing department.

In this position, you will handle cast products from upstream processes, adhering to specified routing to deliver a finished product that meets customer specifications while adhering to production timelines.

• $1,000 sign-on bonus
• Compensation: $23 per hour, based on experience

Work Schedule: Rotating shifts - Day 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM; Night 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM on a Continental Schedule (2 on, 2 off; 3 on, 2 off).

• High School diploma or GED
• Capability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand and bend for extended periods, and tolerate varying temperatures
• Comfortable working in tight spaces and at heights
• Willingness to be part of a collaborative team and work flexible hours, including mandatory overtime
• Manufacturing experience is preferred
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts

• Maintaining organization and cleanliness in the finishing and ingot storage areas
• Receiving guidance and information from supervisors and control room operators, primarily working independently
• Loading and unloading homogenization furnaces and cooling chambers efficiently
• Operating homogenization furnaces and cooling chambers
• Monitoring and inputting data on furnace and chamber controls
• Setting up and operating saws and lathes, selecting appropriate feeds and speeds
• Using forklifts or overhead cranes to load and unload materials
• Delivering processed materials to subsequent operational areas as required
• Inspecting material quality throughout the process to ensure compliance with customer specifications
• Documenting material dimensions accurately using measuring instruments
• Reporting any defective materials or equipment issues promptly
• Maintaining clear communication regarding production schedules
• Assisting in workflow scheduling within the area
• Completing necessary paperwork and entering information into the computer system for tracking
• Performing basic maintenance checks on machinery
• Ensuring a clean and safe working environment
• Adhering to all safety regulations and operational guidelines
• Managing inventory of supplies needed for daily tasks
