Senior Electrical Estimator

Job Summary:

The Senior Electrical Estimator will be responsible for creating accurate and profitable bid proposals for a variety of commercial projects. In this position, you will review proposal specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, and review bids together with other estimators to ensure accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, coordinate, and oversee the preparation of conceptual and detailed estimates for various complex projects.
  • Lead and manage an estimating team on preconstruction budgets up to $10M in electrical budget.
  • Prepare conceptual cost model estimates from limited information using local historic cost information.
  • Understand the fundamental concepts of engineering drawings.
  • Effectively perform material take offs.
  • Travel to support both project and corporate needs.
  • Develop the estimate plan and coordinate estimate development with the project team.
  • Prepare Work Package Estimate breakdowns in conjunction with the project team.
  • Lead the development of the total project estimate; detailed and/or conceptual.
  • Review subcontractor and vendor bid packages.

Requirements:

  • In-depth knowledge of electrical systems and construction costs.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication skills, at all levels.

Benefits:

  • Salary - $130k - $160k, DOE.
  • Annual bonus, tends to be $20k +
  • 2-3 weeks PTO straight away.
