The Credit Manager is a key role within the Badger Daylighting Corp, responsible for overseeing the credit granting process and ensuring the company's financial health. Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and execute a comprehensive business plan, aligning with the company's overall strategic plan and immediate manager's business objectives.
  2. Establish, implement, and manage administrative and review systems to protect the quality and profitability of the portfolio.
  3. Manage credit structuring and negotiation strategy discussions with internal stakeholders.
  4. Analyze, underwrite, and approve/disapprove credit line requests, identifying potential problem accounts and working to minimize risk.
  5. Advise staff, officers, and business units on the company's credit policies.
  6. Research and evaluate customers' creditworthiness.
  7. Define credit management policies and controls, establishing credit limits.
  8. Provide management and oversight of credit management activities, authorizing credit exceptions.
  9. Establish metrics to provide up-to-date data for informed decision-making and identify key areas for improvement.
  10. Work with management, Sales, and Program Management to monitor AR status, new customer creditworthiness, and continued monitoring of existing customers.
  11. Document, review, and maintain credit applications and credit limits.
  12. Support the collections team.
  13. Assess credit risk and have direct control over the credit review process.
  14. Act as the point of contact for all matters relating to credit management.
  15. Coordinate and oversee the remediation process, evaluating bad debt write-offs and performing postmortem analysis on doubtful accounts.
  16. Manage and oversee a team of four employees and their daily tasks.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor's Degree with 10+ years' work experience in credit control and credit analysis.
  2. 10+ years of relevant financial experience, including credit control and credit analysis.
  3. Experience in Oracle preferred.
  4. Hands-on experience developing and implementing revised credit control processes, policies, and reporting.
  5. The ability to initiate and implement change, comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
  6. Strong results orientation with a track record of meeting or exceeding business objectives.
  7. A team player with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact successfully with all levels of management.
  8. Excellent skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  9. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency.
  10. Fully applies oneself to the requirements of the position.
